Spark Plug Ceramic Broke

When i was taking them out 3 of them broke.

Spark plug ceramic broke. I own a 2004 volvo xc90 t6 2 9l awd with 6 cyl. As the title suggests i encountered a broken piston ceramic sheath shield as shown below. Then soak the broken plug shell with a generous amount of penetrating oil. Checked all wiring coils and plugs on cycl4 and low and behold about half of the ceramic sheath was.

I managed to change them with out getting any porcelain in the combustion chamber then i got to the last one and oops there goes a little piece of porcelain right down the hole. Using an appropriate size socket bar brace yourself and while holding the socket squarely on the easy out apply a firm steady counterclockwise pressure. A peace of the spark plug broke off and fell into the cylinder wall and i started it and now it s knocking. This answer was.

In this video i show removing an old rusted spark plug where the porcelain section has snapped off completely.
