Skirting Board Coming Away From Floor

The skirting are coming away from the tiles and large gaps are appearing.
Skirting board coming away from floor. I had skirting fitted about 6 month ago after the walls were re skimmed. This space between the floor and the wall is a feature that frequently develops because of your house settling. It almost seems as though the walls have expanded pushing the skirting out. Unfortunately it has many defects one of which is some significant cracking.
Skirting board is also called as base boards the boards that go at bottom of your wall between your wall and your floor. If you prise the skirting board out a little you may find that the pins used to fix the skirting board were very short and were only holding in the gyprock or just making it through to the stud. Which makes me worry that its the floor that has sunk because the wall has been taken away downstairs. Once you ve given the skirting a bit of a bump with the vacuum or something it s enough to loosen the fixing and the skirting comes away from the wall.
It is happening in several areas downstairs which is completely tiled i initially thought it was a moisture issue but the builder doesn t think so. The wall is also coming away from the skirting. There is unavoidable gap between the walls and the floor to avoid such gaps skirting is the best option over redoing the work. If you ve ever looked closely at your home s baseboards and noticed a gap between the wall and the floor you re not alone.
Easy to check if you just pop off some of the beading and the boards are tight on the skirting thats the problem. The skirting was screwed into the walls. Mmm not very technical minded sorry hope that makes sense. Solution is to lift the floor number each length for when you refit and take 20mm off 2 adjacent sides.
